Place: Mývatn

Mývatn Lake and the surrounding area is one of the most picturesque in Iceland. We started by checking out the hissing and smoking geothermal field, followed up with a climb up the ridge of a snow covered crater lake. We then took a drive around the lake before taking a dip in the Mývatn Natural Baths. These were far and above the most majestic hot springs I have ever been in. Later that night we caught our first glimpse of the northern lights. Mývatn was definitely one of our favorite places in Iceland.
